Syria has named its ambassador to Iraq said the Syria news Agency Sana today . According to the agency , Nawaf Al fares is the first Syrian ambassador to Baghdad since the beginning of 1980’s . Syria has re-opened its embassy in Iraq in 2006 after more than 30 years of a cutting of ties between two states . Mr. Al-fares , The new ambassador to Iraq , had worked as a governor of Al-Qonitera province which Al-golan heights which is occupied by Israel is a part of it.
